“16 You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you.” John 15:16 AMP
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I struggle with being a Pastor’s wife. Not saying I don’t want to be, I just feel I am not qualified to be a great Pastors Wife. I look at others and think I need to be more like them. I take my husbands calling very serious, & I don’t want to mess that up at all. What if I say the wrong thing to someone, or what if I do something not like others, etc. I really struggled with this when we officially became “Lead Pastors” 4 yrs ago. I tried doing things the way others were doing it and I would fail at it. Am I qualified, equipped enough to lead these ladies?! I began to think what if my husband picked the wrong wife? I would get so down with feeling I wasn’t cut out for this & feeling I wasn’t the right mate for my husband to step into this HUGE calling with.
It’s amazing the right things, people God puts in your path…………
I had seen a few post from a friend I went to church camp with, she was posting quotes from “Leading and Loving It”. I decided to check it out. I started following “Leading and Loving It” on Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter, then I found out that the founders Lori Wilhite & Brandi Wilson wrote a book for Pastors Wives & Women in Leadership. Guess who bought that book immediately, ME!!!!!! This book is a must for all Pastors Wives & Women in leadership! Between this book, prayer, & deep digging in the word, I started to feel better about where I am , what God called me to be, & I gradually started gaining confidence. I don’t have to be like every other Pastors Wife, I have to be ME. Be who God called me to be. He CHOSE me, He Appointed me, He PURPOSEFULLY PLANTED me, to be Toni Langford. I don’t have it all together as a Pastors Wife, but I have God, a supporting hubby, I joined a great group called Leading and Loving It, and I have the best members at FHL who let me be me.
God doesn’t want you to be someone else, He has CHOSEN you, APPOINTED you, & PURPOSEFULLY PLANTED you, to be who HE wants you to be. HE made you, & GOD is the PERFECT creator.
I’m not saying I don’t have bad days, I just shake them off easier & remember who I am. I am constantly growing & finding myself more & more, and I am HAPPY.
Catch your Breath & Be YOU!!!!!!!!!!
