Finding Confidence In My Journey

“I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. 12 “When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. 13-14 “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree.” Jeremiah 29:11-14 MSG

The journey doesn’t come with built in confidence, but God is right there!

The month of April 2012 is a huge milestone for our family because, God called us to Pastor!

This was an exciting time, a nervous time, an overwhelming time. I went from being a Youth Pastor’s Wife to a”PASTOR’s WIFE”. I knew my husband had it in him to be a lead Pastor, but I had no clue what to do. You would think me growing up as a Pastor’s kid I should at least know the ins and outs. Let me tell you I was wrong! The confidence I had gained as a Woman of God left me a year before we got called to Pastor. What was God thinking picking me to help lead with my husband?! I would pray for confidence over and over, pray that someone would say you got this. I just kept talking to God and didn’t listen. I wanted man/woman to build me up. I kept looking for confidence through people, & everyone wants to be affirmed, but I was looking for affirmation in people & not God. Then I decided to quit talking & crying about my feelings & decided to dig in His word. Thank God for the Word. I love digging into God’s Word, and God brought me to the well known & often used  passage of Jeremiah 29:11. “I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”

God I know you won’t abandon me, I know you will never leave me. Then I kept reading, it really is amazing what you find out if you keep reading!

12 “When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. 13-14 “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree.”

God won’t let me be disappointed!!!

Here is the thing when I lost confidence as a woman of God, I lost confidence in God. Once I listened and caught my breath, God was there like He always is.

I still have “WOE IS ME” moments & lack confidence, but  God won’t let me be disappointed! He goes before me, He walks beside me, & He is behind me to catch me if I lose myself.

God Lets Me Catch My Breath. So when you feel like a fish out of the water in your journey, it’s ok, rest in God & catch your breath. The journey is amazing!

Love,

A Pastor’s Wife Finding Herself
