“Hate stirs up trouble, but love forgives all offenses.”Proverbs 10:12 GNT
A few years ago my last living grandparent passed away, my granny Lina. So my mom & dad did something special for me & my sister. They took pieces of my grandmothers clothes & my grandfathers clothes and made a beautiful quilt. We loved it. It brought back so many memories, when I was little I would go to granny’s and if I felt bad I would crawl upon this mini loveseat & sleep. My granny always covered me with a blanket. A blanket just gives you extra comfort, it makes everything better. At my house we have multiple blankets, & we all love them. If we are sitting on the couch me & my son will most definetly have a blanket, no matter the season, it’s just a comfort thing.
It,s finally FALL! I love the fall. It’s sweater weather. The handmade quilts get brought out for the fall, when I’m cold I snuggle with one of them. It brings me so much comfort. God’s love is like a blanket. The other day I was doing my morning devotion and I read this scripture:
Then God reminded me of my blankets & quilts. Just like the quilts & blankets give me so much comfort and makes me forget what’s going, love covers all.
Hate is not just a word it’s a condition of the heart. Hatred is a seed that grows and keeps on growing. Hatred makes you walk around with a chip on your shoulder, causes you to be offended by everything, it blinds you, it makes your heart hard, and you are cold. It will cause you to be dead inside. Just like a beating heart is warm, a dead heart is cold. A person with hate in their heart will cause trouble or go find the trouble. I just want to go wrap people, who have hatred in their heart, with a blanket so their heart will warm up with the love of God. God,s love flowing through your veins will warm the heart & love will cover the hate. Love is warm. People with love in their heart look for the good in things and not the bad. They are warm and kind, they forgive you.
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 ESV
That passage of scripture is the best and only way to describe what love is.
So much hate in the world. I just want them to feel the love of God. I feel they need blankets of love in their life. Just like my blanket comforts me, I know if they felt real genuine love, their heart would begin to warm up and beat again. Instead of judging let’s start loving and praying their heart condition is healed. Cover them in a blanket of prayer and love.
Catching my breath in the arms of my loving & Heavenly Father!
